Your New Role Looks Like This:
As a Junior Accountant you will be responsible for contributing to client accounting and taxation services within the Australian Unity Trustees business. This role will be responsible for assisting the taxation services team with the preparation and lodgement of income tax returns, financial statements, Business Activity Statements and other compliance reporting requirements in accordance with relevant legislation. This role will also involve bookkeeping services including payroll and superannuation lodgements, drafting of client correspondence, liaising with the Australian Taxation Office, and management of workflow.
This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with the team and take initiative to develop competencies.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Collate tax information for use in the preparation of income tax returns
- Support the Accountants, Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers, to prepare income tax returns, Financial Accounts, Business and Instalment Activity Statements
- Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental accounting and taxation principles, including the ability to interpret client data and financial information as presented
- Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful client outcomes
- Maintain up to date and accurate client records
- Update all client information received in a timely, accurate manner
- Develop positive relationships with different areas of the Trustees business
- Represent the business in a professional manner in liaising with clients and the Australian Taxation Office
- Work with the taxation team to enhance existing processes
This role is ideal for a recent graduate ready for some industry experience!
About You:
- Bachelor of Business, Commerce, Finance or equivalent
- CA/CPA qualifications or progress towards
- Knowledge of basic financial concepts
- MS Office Professional Suite of Software
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadline and manage multiple priorities
