AddressSilverstrand is seeking a Junior Accounts Officer to become a key part in shaping the future of our business alongside an experienced team. You will be based in our Murarrie Head Office.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Junior Accounts Officer is responsible for:
Accounts Payable:
- Accurately and promptly process invoices while maintaining data integrity and precision in payment records.
- Execute payment runs to ensure timely vendor payments and reconcile vendor statements to rectify any discrepancies.
- Coordinate the setup of new vendors in the accounting system and continuously monitor vendor information.
- Evaluate supplier terms to ensure optimal pricing and commercial payment terms.
- Credit card receipt reconciliations and coding.
- Monitoring and accurately managing Purchase Orders.
- Working with the project team to support cost reporting.
- Communicating effectively with suppliers and other departments to resolve any issues or questions.
- Working with wider finance team to coordinate month end reporting and accuracy for accounts.
Accounts Receivable:
- Setting up new customer accounts including review of credit worthiness.
- Generate and issue invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up on outstanding invoices
- Collaborate with the project teams to resolve billing discrepancies and address customer inquiries
- Reconcile customer accounts and ensure accuracy in financial records
- Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Working across Australian and NZ accounts
- Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in accounting regulations
- Proven experience with AR or AP or similar role - Highly Desirable
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
