Gabriel, a leading specialty Coffee Roaster based on the lower north shore of Sydney, is searching for a dedicated and passionate Junior Coffee Roaster to join the team. You'll get to work closely with our production crew, learning both the art and science of coffee roasting from seed to cup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Roastery maintenance: Operate, maintain and deep clean coffee roasting equipment and area, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards and adhering to Roastery Cleaning and Safety procedures and Food Safety Regulations.
- Learning and working with the Goglio packaging system.
- Packing coffee.
- Assist in the operation of coffee roasting machinery under supervision.
- Learn and apply precise and consistent roasting processes to achieve our coffees’ best flavours and qualities.
- Assist in set-up, and participating in cupping sessions to evaluate coffee quality.
Requirements:
- Passion for coffee and a desire to learn about the coffee roasting process (training provided).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to lift, move, load and unload heavy items.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Prior experience in the coffee industry welcomed.
- Fork lift license desirable.
