Junior Customer Care Administrator  (Trainee Position)
(Cert II/III in Business Administration available with a full-time role)

Sunglass Fix is a rapidly growing e-commerce business with cutting-edge manufacturing technology in manufacturing sunglass replacement lenses, a truly innovative product and a great team – located in Billinudgel (just outside Byron Bay). 

Founded 18 years ago, we are the original replacement sunglass lens company. From Arnette to Von Zipper and every brand in between, we make and ship thousands of custom lenses to over 150 countries. 

The essence of this role is to assist the Office Manager and Customer Care Team in continuing to provide excellent Customer Care to our customers via email, phone, social media and to our local walk-in customers.

As a Junior Customer Care Administrator, you will be trained to provide a range of additional support when required to the Office Manager such as sorting inbound mail and in busy times assisting the production team in packing lenses.

This role will be dynamic and move with the ebbs and flows of a small business and require initiative and organisational skills. Ideally this role will be 9am-5pm but we are open to flexible working hours, our warehouse runs from 6.30am to 10.00pm weekdays (option for a late shift is possible once fully trained).

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Customer Care Team by using email software and our proprietary Admin System to liaise with new and existing customers via emails, phone calls & social media channels.
  • Provide product and service information to assist purchasing decisions, provide updates on order status and resolve any ongoing issues that customers may encounter such as model identification, fit problems, lens choice etc.
  • Support front-of-house by assisting walk-in and local customers in using the self service systems, lens displays and providing product information.
  • Collect mail from Billinudgel Post Office and at times assist the Office Manager in processing inbound mail.
  • At times assist in the processing of sunglass lens returns and restock lenses into inventory.
  • Assist the Production Team in cleaning and packing sunglass lenses and any other support they may require.
  • Assist the Management Team with ad hoc jobs and projects (once fully trained).
  • Question the status quo and be innovative in bringing new ideas and better processes to the department. 
  • Be an active team player who shares knowledge and builds strong relationships.

Skills & Experience:

This role is a trainee role with the intention for the successful candidate to study Cert II/III in Business Administration at Kingscliff Tafe or online. However, we are flexible to other related certificates that candidates may have already completed and use this role as a hands-on trainee role.

  • A willingness to learn new technologies and business processes via hands-on training and the opportunity to study a Cert II/III in Business Administration if desired.
  • Experience working in a business or manufacturing environment is a plus but not necessary.
  • Any type of customer service experience during full-time or part-time work would be ideal but not necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven organisational skills.
  • A flexible individual who can easily move from one task to the next dynamically and manage their workflow once fully trained in the role.

Successful Candidates will have the following skills:

  • Able to learn new information quickly.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Excellent phone manner.
  • Good computer skills.
  • A neat & tidy appearance.
  • A willingness to study at TAFE (however if a candidate only wants to learn via hands-on training within the business we could consider this).
