This is a new role within the company and is suited to a detail-oriented and proactive junior Engineer to support our bidding process, specifically in the Oil & Gas, Defence, Petro-Chemical, Power, Water, and mining sectors. This role will report to the Tendering Manager and will play a pivotal role in the company's growth by assisting in the preparation, submission, and tracking of bids and proposals. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information for bids and proposals.
Review and analyse bid requirements specific to the RFQ and ensure all necessary documents are included.
Prepare and format bid documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with RFQ-specific guidelines and standards.
Maintain bid tracking system and ensure timely submissions within the specialized sectors.
Attend and participate in team / corporate activities, meetings, and day to day work activities demonstrating respect and consideration for individuals and their experiences and expertise.
Proofread and edit documents to ensure clarity, coherence, and professionalism, tailored to the specific RFQ.
Follow up on submitted bids and proposals and report to the Tendering Manager with feedback.
Abide by company policies and procedures, and demonstrate ethical responsibility to self, team members and customers.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, and/or business/commerce preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience in bid coordination within heavy industry
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Visio
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
