About the position:
We are seeking an experienced Junior Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance) with an in-depth understanding of the challenges of the FMCG manufacturing environment. Exposure is crucial for your success in the role. The role will be reporting to our Mechanical Engineer and Head of Facilities and Supply Chain.
Your responsibilities will include the following tasks but are not limited to:
- Provide technical support to all relevant departments and technical teams to assist with any machine-related issues in the organisation.
- Liaise with our Facility, Production and Operation managers to ensure that the management objectives in regard to new equipment, maintenance of existing equipment and production targets are met.
- Assist in the relocation of existing machinery and equipment as per new layout plans, and expansion of the existing main production unit.
- Oversee installation of new equipment at our new factory.
- Assist site inspection to ensure compliance with the requirements to increase efficiency.
- Prepare, plan, and implement maintenance requirements for each equipment including but not limited to cooking units, packing units (Traves, sleeve, and vacuum packaging), chillers, date coders, weigh and X-ray inspection units, spirals, conveyors, labelling and branding units etc.
- Assist in analysing the overall project to assess the cost impact and assist the cost estimator in obtaining a more accurate cost estimate.
- Work out optimum operating conditions, machine output, resource consumption and monitor individual equipment’s performance.
- Assist in the location of faults, RCA (Root Cause Analysis) diagnosis and troubleshooting of equipment on the production floor.
- Plan preventative maintenance (PM), quarterly and annual maintenance for the equipment and generate reports for PM and breakdowns. (Using maintenance software)
- Manage inventory of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specific parts, plan and order new parts as required.
- Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
- Report to facility, production, and operation managers to ensure that the management’s production objectives are met.
About the applicant:
Required Skills & Experience
- At least three (3) years of experience of relevant job experience
- Mechanical Engineering degree
- Ability to identify errors and have key attention to detail in assessing the information.
- Broad experience in the maintenance of manufacturing or production equipment
- Well-developed problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: AUD 80,000 - 82,500 per year plus superannuation
