Junior Medical Officer - Emergency Medicine

Position - Unaccredited Trainee - Emergency Department
Location - Illawarra/ Shoalhaven - Wollongong Hospital.
Salary - As per NSW State Award

We have partnered with Illawarra/Shoalhaven Health District assisting to fill their Junior Medical Officer positions in Emergency Medicine. The Unaccredited Trainee Positions are primarily based out of Wollongong Hospital.

Wollongong is a coastal city in Australia, south of Sydney along the Grand Pacific Drive. Surfing beaches and rock pools line the coastline. Trails encircle the forests and rocky cliffs of Mt. Keira in the Illawarra mountain range, which frames the city. To the north, hang gliders launch from Bald Hill. South lie the Buddhist temple of Nan Tien and Lake Illawarra, a large lagoon with boating and fishing facilities.

PRIMARY PURPOSE
To provide emergency medical care to patients while developing experience and expertise under the supervision of Emergency Specialists within ISLHD.
The position of Unaccredited Trainee would suit a junior doctor of at least 2 years post graduate experience who wishes to gain clinical experience and training in Emergency Medicine prior to formal critical care training. The Unaccredited Trainee will participate in a seven-day per week roster which includes evening and night shifts and will demonstrate proficiency in the initial assessment and management of all medical and surgical emergencies in paediatric and adult patients.

SELECTION CRITERIA
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
Minimum two years post graduate experience
