The firm

Jarratt, Webb & Barrett Solicitors is a law firm with offices located in Nelson Bay and Tamworth. We are a generalist firm servicing a broad variety of clients in areas including Family Law, Conveyancing, Wills and Estates, Agricultural law, Commercial disputes and litigation. 

 The position

We are seeking a motivated and diligent Junior Solicitor, experienced Paralegal and receptionist to join our Nelson Bay office on a full-time basis commencing immediately. 

The successful candidate will be working predominately in Estate Administration, as well as Estate Planning, Conveyancing and assisting the Principal Solicitor in litigation and ad-hoc matters through research and drafting. 

The candidate 

The successful candidate will have:

Junior Solicitor

• Completed Bachelor of Laws;
• Completed or undertaking NSW Practical Legal Training (PLT);
• Sound academic record;
• Some legal experience;
• Competent research skills;
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; and
• The ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Paralegal

• A minimum 3 - 5 years experience in Estate Administration;
• Thoroughness and an eye for detail;
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills;
• Previous LEAP experience desirable; 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; and
• The ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Receptionist

• Duties to include general reception, typing, mail and document management along with diary coordination.
• Must be well presented and have reasonable telephone manner.
• Must be able to liase with clients as an initial point of contact.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; and
• The ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Be familiar with the Microsoft suite of programs.
• Experience preferable
