Our venue has an outstanding opportunity for a Sous Chef We need a Chef who understands the importance of creativity, efficiency, innovation and who wants to help our venue continue to make its mark on the Melbourne food scene.
About the role
We are looking for someone who is passionate about food, the industry and enthusiastic, They must be willing to stand alongside the Head Chef and really excel under pressure.
Highly organised
self-motivated
creative
proficient in helping with rostering, cost control & food safety management.
Skills and experience
You must be fully qualified with proven experience as a chef in a busy kitchen.
High volume experience
Experience in the smooth running of food service for the entirety of the shift
The ability to create and plan exciting menus for functions and seasonal menu's including recipe development
The passion to set high standards in the kitchen
Excellent delegation and time management skills
A strong empathetic communicator dedicated to developing the kitchen team
Experience in stock and cost control and ordering/ budgetary processes
Attention to detail, creativity and a passion for food
A high standard of cleanliness
Ability to produce and coordinate prep lists
Must have updated and current knowledge of dietary and allergy menu requirements.
