About the role:
- To provide strategic channel leadership, through the effective establishment of innovative product and service solutions for retailers, targeting desired consumer segments and ensuring we meet and exceed our sales and profitability targets.
- Strong influencing skills and stakeholder management is crucial as the key lead negotiator within your customer group (Buyers, GM’s, Planners and Stores) as well as internally negotiating (Senior Management, Marketing and Planning teams) to gain the best outcome for your customer group.
- The role will lead and maintain strong positive relationships to achieve short-term and long-term business objectives.
- Effective planning and management of the full sales business process is a necessity to plan and execute strategies through detailed forecasting and promotional planning and profit management.
The key responsibilities we would trust you with:
- Create the strategies and concepts to achieve the business plan and to improve exposure both in store and on digital platforms to place Panasonic in a winning position
- Manage and achieve sales target and control expenditure within guidelines across sales and profit.
- Utilise market data to analyse and identify growth opportunities, Analyse performance of sales territory strategies by region and product category, initiating corrective action wherever necessary.
- Develop product training programmes within your customer group to educate the store sales team and to create product and brand advocates in store
- Build strong relationships across the channel network to ensure you have knowledge and partnerships to influence and challenge to achieve the business result.
- Meet regularly with your customer group decision makers to develop a strong understanding of Panasonic’s position within their business, the market and competitive situation. This may require frequent travel interstate when required.
- Develop 12-month product and promotion to support the sales business plan and category strategies.
The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most to the role:
- Previous experience in channel management on a national platform.
- Experience and trained in managing negotiations and trading terms at a senior level.
- Experience in Consumer Electronics or peripheral industry preferred not essential.
- Experience in sell through and inventory forecasting.
- Degree qualified in a commerce or similar preferred.
