About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Specialist to drive mutual value with customers through Implementation of our electrification strategy and roadmap, a core strategic initiative for our business. Electrification of fossil fuel energy is accelerating, underpinned by a clear emissions reduction policy at Federal and State Government level. Essential Energy has developed an electrification strategy and roadmap for the purpose of engaging key internal and external stakeholders, whilst identifying the highest value path (targeted approach), market gaps, and opportunities to guide electrification initiatives for the long-term interest of customers.
You will leverage your entrepreneurial and customer centric mindset together with your cross disciplinary skills and experience to unpack detailed and diverse customer energy objectives to address socio-techno-economic decarbonization challenges through the development and implementation of customer electrification plans. Such work will be critical to the achievement of Australia's emission reduction targets and customer expedited access to lower cost, carbon free, resilient energy.
As part of the role, you will lead the development and implementation of customer sectoral electrification plans and drive enabling internal and external electrification program activities and subprojects. You will lead various working groups with key internal and external stakeholders, and report on sectoral electrification progress to Essential Energy's Executive Leadership Team.
The role offers a diverse working environment from in the office with Essential Energy's electrification team and key departments to in the field with customers developing strategic electrification plans, establishing customer electrification feasibility studies, emerging electrification technology trials, and electrification engineering & design, to support customers to achieve their decarbonisation energy objectives at lowest cost. In addition, you will be leading the development of key customer demand response programs, innovation in network access and tariff design to support the connection of key customer energy resources and guide the development of new products and services to support key customers achieve their energy objectives.
Our preference is for the role to be based in Port Macquarie working from home in a hybrid work environment.
About You
You will have proven experience as Key Account Specialist, or in a client or customer facing relationship management role. In addition, you will have:
- Well-developed communication skills with an ability to consult, negotiate, resolve issues and deal tactfully and effectively with people at all levels
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to drive outcomes supported by clear understanding of the value generated for Essential Energy
- High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to lead change, garner support and influence outcomes and communicate clearly and with impact to internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Innovative, independent thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit - thinks "outside the box"
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare Executive and Board documentation, reports, briefings and socialise recommendations for business implementation
- Time management and prioritisation skills to assist in managing a wide range of issues concurrently while ensuring that resources are assigned to the areas with the greatest benefit.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Business or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
