About the Centre/Service Situated on Boon Wurrung land, Olive Phillips Kindergarten (OPK) supports children, families and teachers working together to create a community rich in values, knowledge and skills. OPK is set in the leafy beachside suburb of Beaumaris and has played a significant role in early childhood education since the 1940’s. Consistent with the National Quality Framework, the curriculum is guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and practice principles, including: Family focused practice Partnerships with professionals High expectations Equity and diversity Respectful relationships and responsive engagement As a kindergarten we are committed to providing a child safe environment and all staff must demonstrate their ongoing responsibility to ensuring child safety.
Hours of Work of the Role 15h (additional hours may be available for the right candidate)
- Continuing to deliver a high quality education program inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Develop and maintain effective and respectful relationships with children, families and our early childhood professionals.
- Maintain mandatory reporting to adhere to government regulations and child safety guidelines.
- Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan.
- Lead our high quality team of professionals and drive a high performing culture.
- Work with the Committee to manage all areas of Administration and Finance.
- ACECQA-approved Diploma in Children’s Services or bachelor’s degree (Early Childhood Education).
- Prior experience as a Centre Manager / Nominated Supervisor.
- Prior experience in a sessional kindergarten environment is desired
- Understanding of the National Quality Framework, VEYLDF and National Laws and Regulations
- Understanding of the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme
- Current Valid Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificates.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Be passionate about early childhood education.
