FareShare runs Australia's largest charity kitchens, cooking millions of nutritious complete meals every year to improve the lives of people living in hardship. Our chefs oversee an army of volunteers, utilizing rescued, donated and our own farm-grown produce to cook delicious, resourceful meals. These meals are provided free of charge to over 400 charities including homeless shelters, soup vans, women’s refuges, disadvantaged schools, First Nations communities, and rural food banks.
We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional with strong communication skills to join our dedicated, dynamic kitchen team.

YOUR DAY WILL TYPICALLY INCLUDE:
• Producing nutritious meals from a mystery box of exciting ingredients
• Supervising a kitchen of wonderful volunteers to prepare mountains of vegetables and package thousands of meals
• Following our HACCP Food Safety Program and record-keeping
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
• Experience and knowledge of food preparation and kitchen processes. Have experience with large commercial cooking equipment.
• Experience working with, and motivating people from diverse backgrounds and skillsets
• The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team and is not afraid to get their hands dirty
• Keenness to reduce food insecurity and food waste at a local level
• Physically fit to meet the demands of a high-volume kitchen
• Organised and adaptable, with the ability to prioritize work to get things done
• Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check(employee status)
Obtaining a Food Safety Supervisor certificate will be a requirement.
HIGHLY REGARDED:
- Ideally, you will have demonstrated experience in supervising a team either in fast-paced hospitality or volunteer environments
- Understanding of cook-chill processes
- Current knowledge of HACCP and food safety processes.
The position available is a full-time role. There are no split shifts.
