Your Assignment |
The Head Chef is a part of the leadership team and is responsible for all day to day operations within the department, managing and training the team of chefs, and actively participating in the development of existing and new and innovative products. The role will be required to work within a rotating roster over a seven day period. You must have permanent residency in Australia.
- Menu Development: Creating and updating menus, including seasonal and special occasion items.
- Recipe Creation and Standardization: Developing new pastry recipes and ensuring they are consistently replicated by the team.
- Team Management: Leading, training, and supervising pastry kitchen staff, including junior chefs and apprentices.
- Inventory and Ordering: Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring the availability of fresh ingredients.
- Quality Control: Ensuring all pastries and desserts meet LaManna standards for taste, presentation, and quality.
- Cost Management: Controlling costs by optimizing the use of ingredients, reducing waste, and working within budget constraints.
- Hygiene and Safety: Enforcing kitchen safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Production Planning: Coordinating the production schedule to meet the demand of the business, including catering for special events and custom orders.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other chefs and the management team to ensure the overall success of the department and business.
To be successful in this role, you must have proven leadership skills, excellent time management skills, be fanatical about organisation and cleanliness, current knowledge of pastry trends within the industry and enthusiasm to keep your department energised, motivated, clean and presentable.
