About Worthy Cause:
Worthy Cause is a social enterprise that supports vulnerable people who are overcoming severe hardship through our structured employment program. We offer them the core, interpersonal, financial and social skills they need to become employable and change their lives. 

Worthy Cause has previously operated as a cookie business, baking and selling cookies to fund our program. We are now expanding our program to a new cafe, enhancing the skills and experiences our participants can gain and to increase the amount of participants our program can support.

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for assisting the Head Chef and Barista with cooking, cleaning and coffee responsibilities. This role will be split between cafe meal preparation and barista. This role is responsible for working closely with our chef to ensure all meals, catering, grab and go food options are prepared to our schedule, delicious and safe to eat every day.

Key Responsibilities:

Kitchen Operations

• Assist with a range of kitchen operations: cooking, food prep, cleaning
• Assist with cafe FOH and barista: making coffee, counter service, POS
• Complete daily and scheduled cleaning
• Correct use of our processes and procedures in the kitchen
• Maintain our high standards for food quality, maintain use of our quality management system
• Ensure you do your part to keep our kitchen operation to all legal and regulatory requirements

Ideal Prerequisites 

• Experience as a cook 
• Experience as a baker
• Experience as a barista
• A positive attitude and willingness to support, nurture and assist our vulnerable participants on their employment journey 
• Willingness to undertake a WWCC, Police Check and First Aid course
