AddressAustralian Clinical Labs situated in Norwest Business Park, Bella Vista is a private pathology laboratory that provides a comprehensive diagnostic Microbiology service to General Practitioners, private hospitals and commercial clients in the Sydney metropolitan and surrounding regional areas.
The Position
Australian Clinical Labs is seeking applications for the position of a full time Laboratory assistant in the field of Microbiology. The successful candidate will be part of a team of dedicated scientists with a focus on quality of results and a high standard of service.
- Full time (afternoon/evening shift 6PM – 2AM)
- On-site parking
Duties include:
- Review, classify as per pathology request and registering specimens on arrival into the Microbiology department.
- Perform specimen Microbiology testing setup including but not limited to swabs, faeces, urine, sputum, fluid, tissue and blood cultures.
- Perform diagnostic testing on automation and via manual procedures including microscopy analysis.
- Perform all procedures as documented in Clinical Labs laboratory Procedure Manual
- Entering results into laboratory information system.
- Good knowledge of laboratory operations including; safety, operation of equipment and hands on practical experience performing laboratory skills.
Skills and experience
- Certificate of Laboratory Techniques
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of microbiology and its disciplines
- Self-motivated with an ability to work both within a team and as an individual.
- Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines.
- Have strong time management, organisational and interpersonal skills
