The Women’s is excited to introduce a Public Fertility Services (PFS) for Victorians designed to provide comprehensive person-centered fertility care to eligible patients. Our Reproductive Services department treats patients for a wide range of fertility and other medical issues. Our Laboratory Team undertake all aspects of human assisted reproduction which includes the manipulation of human oocytes, sperm and embryos and other related aspects of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
In your role as Laboratory Administration Officer you will contribute to the smooth running of the laboratory and provide caring and efficient reception duties with care and compassion.
Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in all interactions with patients and their families, colleagues and medical, nursing and other staff
- Assist in all aspects of laboratory reception duties
- Manage patient enquiries that are often regarding sensitive and personal issues
- Support the import and export of cryopreserved specimens
- Manage semen collection including instructing patients using procedure room.
- Prepare laboratory documentation
- Maintain laboratory records and data.
- Maintain laboratory stock levels, ordering, administration, and processing of laboratory orders for perishable and consumable goods
To be successful within this role you will need to have:
- Prior clinical clinical laboratory administration experience
- Year 12 or equivalent including a laboratory-based science.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to provide patients with exceptional experiences
- To be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multitask
- Strong attention to and communication of detail
- A calm, methodical and observant approach
- Be self-motivated and professional
- Team-oriented mindset

Influenza Vaccination Requirement
In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.
As this role fits into category A or B of the departments risk ratings, applicants will be required to have been vaccinated against influenza. Evidence of vaccination is required.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to provide patients with exceptional experiences?
Essential: Do you have Year 12 or equivalent level education, including a laboratory-based science?
Essential: Do you have administrative experience in a clinical laboratory?
Desirable: Do you hold a qualification (university degree) in biological science?
