Laboratory Coordinator

The Casino Food Co-Op is a leading export food processor with production facilities at Casino and Booyong near Lismore in the Northern Rivers area of the NSW far north coast.

Since 1933, our Company has established ourselves as an industry leader in meat processing, providing a unique opportunity for operators to process livestock in world class processing facilities.

The beef processing plant employs approximately 1,000 people, making us the largest employer in the local region.

We have an opportunity for a Laboratory Coordinator to join the Quality Assurance team. Laboratory staff report to the Quality Assurance Manager and are a key part of supplying testing services to The Casino Food Co-Op.

Our laboratory operates in accordance with our certification from both NATA and the Department of Agriculture and Water and Environment, with specific focus on product compliance and food safety and product development. 

We are seeking candidates who:

• Possess a keen interest in science and testing methodologies 
• Are proficient in using computer systems and software relevant to laboratory work
• Have an ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Are organised and have attention to detail

Preferred skills: 

• Solid understanding of computer applications used in laboratory settings.
• Familiarity with the operational aspects of a laboratory.
• Excellent communication abilities, facilitating effective team collaboration.
• Self-motivated with the capacity to work with minimal supervision
