Contract Laboratory Technician Positions Available (6 months full time).

The Position
We currently have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our team at our Geelong site. Working at our Kyvalley Laboratory and reporting to the Quality Manager this opportunity will see you participate in the compliance testing of milk and dairy products as applicable to current manufacturing process. Your primary duties will include a broad range of both microbiological and chemical testing activities, sample preparation, equipment calibration and computer-based analysis.
This opportunity will work a 5 day week, with a Monday to Friday roster that includes weekend work once per month. As recognition for your efforts, you will receive an attractive salary package and the opportunity to gain experience in the dairy industry.
Key Responsibilities for the Laboratory Technician:
- Perform all tasks required within the laboratory environment
- Sample collection, preparation, and testing in accordance with Lab methods Manual.
- Microbiological Testing, (raw, inline & final product), including quality controls.
- Chemical testing (raw, inline & final product).
- Media Preparation, chemical handling, and dispensing.
- Calibration, maintenance, and inspections of all laboratory equipment.
- Swabbing of equipment and environment, etc for hygiene and troubleshooting purposes.
- Competently meet requirements for NATA water sampling and DFSV AMRA samplingChemical, physical and microbiological analysis of milk and inline samples.
- Environmental sampling.
- QC production support.
- Calibration of lab equipment.
Requirements of the positions:
- Relevant Food Industry experience preferably in a laboratory
- The ability to accurately follow detailed work and quality procedures
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in a fast pace laboratory environment
