Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. ABOUT THE ROLEThis role is a Permanent Full-Time position on a 7/7 roster, FIFO from Townsville, Brisbane, or Cairns.As the Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for coordinating and prioritising work to ensure efficient completion of analyses to meet turnaround times.Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

• Preparation, analysis, and reporting of samples to agreed standards
• Maintaining the Laboratory and its equipment in a safe and reliable working state
• Maintenance of Laboratory overheads i.e., reagent preparations, consumable stocks, equipment prestart and Laboratory equipment
• Review of QAQC and initiation of all required remedial action based on out-of-speciation QAQC prior to reporting results to customers

ABOUT YOUYou will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Prior experience in a similar role working in a commercial, mining or production Laboratory
• Understanding and familiarisation with base metal minerals analytical techniques and instrumentation - desirable
• Knowledge of relevant laboratory equipment such as: WD-XRF, ICP-OES, ISE, fusion units, laboratory-scale sample comminution
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Qualifications for this position are:

• Certificate III in analytical laboratory practices - desirable
• Forklift license - desirable
• Current Driver's License - required
