Job DescriptionFull time permanentThis position is based in Girraween, NSWAfternoon Shift position (3 pm - 10 pm)Recent graduates with university/TAFE lab experience encouraged to applyThe Laboratory Technician (Solid Splitting) is responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately received, logged, prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.Reporting to the Supervisor, the role will focus on:Receive and log in samples accurately.Prepare samples for analysis by mixing, blending and weighing, in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods.Perform routine analysis, validations and project work in an efficient and effective manner.Ensure external and internal clients’ requirements are met / exceeded.Ensure efficient utilisation of laboratory materials.Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment/instruments as required.Perform quality control tests.QualificationsCertificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.About YouTo be successful for this position, you will need to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics:Experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.Experience working in a fast paced environment.Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.Strong attention to detail.Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.On the job training will be provided, along with the use of our systems and programs.
