ABOUT THE POSITION
The Landscape Architect/Designer is responsible for the end-to-end design process, from the initial client consultation, to designing and documenting the project and presenting to the client.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing incoming enquiries by completing client consultations and the preparation of fee proposals.
- Supervise junior staff to deliver projects including delegation of responsibilities.
- Manage all commercial and residential design projects of all scales, from concept design through to construction documentation.
- Have a sound understanding of the surrounding Council’s requirements, including submission requirements.
- Have the ability to produce Council quality landscape drawings (ie. Operational Works Drawings, Development Approval Landscape Report).
- Attend meetings and work together with other disciplines on projects
- Have the ability to solve complex problems, occasionally under time pressure.
- Have the ability to prepare and externally present to clients and builders on project related matters.
- Manage pricing of residential and boutique projects including takeoff, RFQ’s and submission to client.
- Manage plant procurement and plant ordering for construction projects. Including negotiating and creating relationships with suppliers.
- Have the ability to create strong relationships with suppliers and clients.
- Work alongside the estimating and construction teams to ensure the success of a project.
- Have a sound understanding of sub-tropical and native plants commonly used in South East Queensland. Effectively apply this knowledge to projects and in front of clients.
- Be a highly motivated individual with strong communication skills.

- Have excellent organisational and time management skills
- Provide high quality landscape designs to satisfy the clients project requirements and within the Companies capabilities.
- Degree / qualifications in Landscape Architecture, a related discipline, or an aligned design degree
- Minimum 4+ years working in an Architectural/Landscaping
- Must have experience with AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite to produce quality drawings
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, construction detailing and detailed design and knowledge of Australian Building Codes
- Excellent working knowledge of horticulture and its use in landscape design
- A genuine passion and enjoyment for landscape design
- The ability to coordinate, manage and report on the delivery of a program of works
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Autonomy to manage projects on your own
- Clear understanding of Landscape Architecture principles and the ability to provide input within a team environment.
- Communicates with confidence and in a responsive manner
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe Suit
- Previous local experience with complex projects within high-end residential, commercial landscape design / architecture highly regarded.
