What you will be doing

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the General Manager, Supply Chain, the Commercial Operations Team Leader oversees the various functions of the 3PL warehouse. This is a 'hands on' position working as part of a small team. This position is categorized as compliance critical and, as such, requires and is assigned specific responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate and regulatory requirements.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directs the workflow, motivates, trains and monitors the performance of warehouse associates involved in the Distribution Center's day to day functions Assists in the process of selection, training and performance management for the Distribution Center associates. Monitors work processes and makes suggestions for modifications in order to increase and improve productivity, efficiency and accuracy for the purpose of improving costs; implements changes as directed or needed. Oversees the Distribution Centers department staff working in the Inbound and Outbound teams as well Inventory management Actively participates and promotes continuous improvement initiatives Supports compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and applicable country authorities' regulations. Ensures the maintenance of records documenting order filling process such as quantity, size, and strength and NDC / ARTG numbers. Oversees the quality of the packing, protecting breakable items to ensure merchandise received by World Courier customers arrives in a satisfactory manner. Manage the cold chamber cleaning schedule out of hours to ensure the schedule is adhered to as per the SOP. Document, monitor, and evaluate performance and activity for each direct report and team against critical success measures to identify patterns. Review behavioural and/or performance issues and activity metrics with direct associates in a monthly meeting. Complete and deliver progressive reviews and finalise annual review for each associate, including determination of suggested merit, based on annual scores for associates. Collaborates with other Company departments to make reports in a timely manner.

Scheduling of depot rosters / shifts

Responsible for planning and tracking daily orders and activities

May interact with customers in resolving issues. Must be willing to work extended hours, as needed, in order to meet productivity goals. Must be willing to participate in physical inventory as scheduled. Performs related duties as assigned Perform any other duties which the employee has been trained for.

Internal Communication and Information Sharing

  • Keep Internal Stakeholders informed of the progress of their order and shipment.
  • Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders to find appropriate resolutions to Clinical and Commercial matters to ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
  • Liaise with the Transport Customer Service team in relation to World Courier transport bookings and ensure correct processes are followed.
  • Provide information to all WCA business units to ensure work output is coordinated in an effective manner.
  • Contribute to team and organisational wide discussions by sharing ideas, experiences and recommendations around improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the business.

Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Effectively collaborate with all Internal Stakeholders to ensure the function is operating effectively and efficiently, while maintaining a harmonious team environment.

Policy and procedure

  • Comply with standard operating procedures and policies to ensure that the function is demonstrating consistent practices nationally and is in line with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure WCA compliance with all government legislative and other requirements such as ACS, CASA, AQIS, IATA, ISO
  • Ensure full compliance with international local regulations such as WCA RACA SP (Registered Air Cargo Security Program) Australian Customs IATA regulations
  • Ensure full compliance with WCA quality management systems (GxP)

Report all accidents, incidents and hazards to their supervisor as soon as is practicable.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant OH&S legislation and that any issues are identified and actioned in line WCA policy.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Logistics Degree (preferred) or equivalent work experience.

Three or more years experience in Operations/ Logistics or Warehousing

  • Experience in Receiving/put away, inventory/ replenishment, Pick/ Pack process from initial order to completion.
  • Understanding of the sensitivity of handling pharmaceutical products and working with and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Current forklift license - counter balance and electric reach trucks;
  • Experience in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Excellent interpersonal relationships.
  • Be able to take initiatives and solve problems
  • Self driven and can work autonomously
  • Sound computer skills
  • An understanding of Imports and Exports processes and statutory requirements.
  • Sound experience using the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sound level of numeracy and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problems solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands.

General Manager, Supply Chain

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Year 12 VCE or equivalent Have minimum 2 years logistics & warehousing experience in a leadership position Current forklift license - counter balance and electric reach trucks; Experience in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
