IGS Early Learners is a new purpose-built long day care centre and kindergarten service, catering for boys and girls from 6 weeks old to Pre-Prep.
Operated by Ipswich Grammar School, the centre opened in January 2024. We provide exceptional care, specialist programs and a nurturing environment that allows children to be supported and fostered in their growth and development.

The role of the Lead Educator in our Nursery is to develop and implement the program of activities and experiences that support learning for the children. As a team, yourself and the educators will develop high quality educational and operational plans that align with the national quality standards, and consistent with the Explicit Teaching approach.
The Lead Educator - Nursery will be responsible for:
- ensuring IGS Early Learners facilitates a developmentally oriented learning environment and develop learning programs responsive to children’s ideas, strengths and abilities that inspire independent learners;
- ensure the early childhood program meets the goals of the EYLF to help children develop a strong sense of their identity, connections with their world, strong sense of wellbeing confidence and involvement in their learning and effective communication skills;
- have an understanding of relevant legislation, frameworks, IGS Early Learners’ policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure the service meets all compliance obligations;
- care for the physical and emotional needs of babies at the centre, relevant to their age and development;
- undertake general tasks to contribute to the overall operation of the centre.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or actively working towards.

As a condition of employment, all non-teaching staff are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and are required to maintain their Blue Card for the duration of employment. In addition, hold a current First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Qualification.
