About the Role
Our client’s office is continuously securing work on challenging projects in gold, green minerals and iron ore, as well as other industry sectors across Australia and internationally.
With continued growth and a strong pipeline of future work, we currently have an opportunity for a Lead Electrical & Instrument engineer (10+ years’ experience) with a strong project delivery background to join our well-integrated and experienced project team. Our clients projects are diverse, encompassing multiple industries, and will enable strong technical development in your career across plant design, power systems, control systems and instrumentation.
The role is a key leadership position that encompasses several critical responsibilities, including design and technical leadership, team management, client and stakeholder management, and project delivery. You will facilitate the consistent delivery of a high quality / high-level technical design and provide audit and advisory services related to all aspects of the business. This role will report directly to the Directors of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for production of EIC design deliverables, ensuring client deadlines are met
- Evaluates design risks and impacts affecting schedules
- Organizes, executes and delivers projects within agreed budget and schedule
- Provides technical leadership and allocation of engineering resources to meet project deliverables
- Engage with clients and stakeholders including managing negotiations for variations to scope and services
- Assess and manage team performance
- Project status reporting and preparation and review of technical reports

Technical Attributes:
- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering
- CPEng Certification, Functional Safety systems Certification & EEHA Certification
- 10 years of post-graduate experience, with 4 years in mineral processing
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards
- Proven leadership ability in a similar role or environment with experience leading teams of engineering and project staff
- Experience in design documentation, operation, construction/commissioning and general engineering of mineral processing or chemical facilities
- Experience must include study, front end engineering design (FEED), detailed design, and site construction experience
- Excellent formal written and verbal communication skills. Capable of communicating and liaising clearly and effectively at all levels of the business and especially with clients and stakeholders
