Lead Mechanic / Automotive Technician - Jabiru

Background:
Jabiru Service Station Pty Ltd (JSS) operates in the beautiful surrounds of World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. JSS is the only service station in Jabiru and besides the fuel bowsers and convenience shop operates a workshop focused on offering excellent mechanical services and repairs. JSS provides a friendly and welcoming working environment within the established township of Jabiru.
Responsibilities:
- Inspections, maintenance and repairs for passenger vehicles and light trucks;
- Familiarity with workshop machinery, automotive parts, job/labour pricing, invoicing and general workshop procedures;
- Training, overseeing and supervising of a team of auto technicians;
- Oversee daily workshop operations and report to the Workshop Manager.
Selection Criteria:
- Possession of light vehicle mechanical trade qualifications, minimum certificate 3 or 4 in Automotive Industry, minimum 5 years’ experience;
- Demonstrated experience overseeing a workshop environment and team leader skills;
- Ability to maintain, inspect and test vehicles and complete preventative maintenance;
- Good customer skills including engagement with suppliers and stakeholders;
- Ability to use IT systems and good record keeping skills;
- Experience in maintaining stock and placing orders;
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety Risks.
Desirable:
- Ability to conduct Road Worthy inspections
- Air-conditioning qualifications
- Heavy Rigid or Tow Truck Licence
Requirements
- Current manual drivers’ licence
- Be available to work (after hours) call out roster for AANT Road service;
- Must supply own tools;
- Current Police Check and Ochre Card.
