About the role:
We are currently seeking a highly organized and proactive Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead our Product Development team and ensure the successful completion of projects and assignments. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing the efficient flow of work within the team, reporting project progression to the Engineering Manager, and maintaining a safe working environment through conducting risk analyses.
Additionally, you will oversee the delivery of projects within agreed timeframes and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and requirements. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities and contributing to systems improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Product Development team.
- Organise the efficient flow of work and priorities for Product Development (PD) activities.
- Work with the Engineering Manager to report project progression.
- Ensure projects are delivered to the agreed timeframe and specification.
- Ensure all aspects of new product development work complies with relevant standards and compliance requirements.
- Provide a technical resource to support internal and external customers and their requirements.
- Manage ECR / ECN and assignment process and projects.
- Oversee production jig development and implementation.
- Manage all aspects regarding development, performance and compliance of PD projects.
About You:
- Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical (mandatory).
- Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing (mandatory).
- Proven Project Management experience (mandatory).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and general workshop practices (mandatory).
- Experience in Automotive manufacturing design and engineering (desired).
- 3D CAD modelling experience using SolidWorks (desired).
- Knowledge of drafting standards (desired).
- Knowledge of Automotive electrical systems, design, fundamentals and practices (desired).
- Good communications skills, both verbal and written (mandatory).
