Our Technology Business Unit drives digital transformation of our core business. With a commitment to excellence, we strive to deliver scalable and sustainable technology capabilities that enhance productivity, elevate user experiences, and deliver strategic growth across the Ausgrid Group. We support the efficient and effective delivery of network operations, which includes undertaking effective asset lifecycle management, asset operations, customer and market meter data management, financial reporting and management of the electrical network. Your new role
Committed to delivering reliable, sustainable, and innovative energy solutions to our customers, we are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Leader - Technology Infrastructure to play a leading role in executing our technology strategy. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of infrastructure services in a dynamic and forward-thinking organization.
Key responsibilities:
Technology Infrastructure Strategy
- Partner with the CIO to develop and lead the Technology Infrastructure strategy aligned with business objectives
Operational Management
- Oversee the operational management of infrastructure platforms, including data centers, networks, firewalls, and telecommunications
- Ensure a stable and secure infrastructure environment, managing incident response, patching, and asset management
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering skill development and driving the delivery of systems to enable new capabilities
Performance Metrics and Continuous Improvement
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of infrastructure services
- Drive continuous improvement efforts based on performance data
Service Delivery
- Lead the provision of Technology Infrastructure services (ICT/OT) in both on-premise and cloud computing environments
Innovation and Emerging Technologies
- Drive innovation and explore emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support strategic objectives
Initiative Pipeline Management
- Oversee a pipeline of initiatives to improve infrastructure capability, including business case development, project controls, and governance
Environmental Sustainability
- Incorporate initiatives for environmental sustainability within the infrastructure strategy, aligning with Ausgrid's commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility
Cost-Effective Solution Design
- Identify and drive cost-effective solution design and maintenance for ICT and OT systems, optimizing investment decisions
Customer-Focused Culture
- Foster a customer-focused service delivery culture, promoting continuous improvement to business systems and processes
Stakeholder Relationships
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, Managed Service Partners, and strategic vendors to integrate infrastructure services into business processes
Risk Management and Compliance
- Implement operational risk management strategies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including those set forth by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER)
Strategic Contributions
- Contribute to the development of the Technology and Cyber Security strategy, enterprise and solution architecture, and participate in AER submissions and sourcing strategies

Tertiary Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or another closely-related discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar position
Senior Leadership Experience
- Proven senior leadership experience managing infrastructure teams in both ICT and OT environments, encompassing on-premise and cloud computing setups
Cultural Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of collaboration, agile delivery, and continuous improvement within infrastructure teams
- Proven ability to achieve results by empowering teams, delegating responsibilities, and encouraging innovation
- Passion and aptitude for building and developing individuals and teams within a newly created section.
Interpersonal Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience in negotiation, influencing, and providing strategic advice to all levels of the organization
- Building rapport naturally with internal and external stakeholders is crucial
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a customer-focused approach for service delivery
- Experience in communicating with senior stakeholders and business users is crucial
Business Strategy Alignment
- Demonstrated ability to understand and translate business strategy into technology outcomes
Client Engagement
- Extensive experience in client engagement and delivery within an enterprise of similar scale and complexity
Infrastructure Expertise
- Extensive experience in high availability and disaster recovery architecture, communication, and related technologies
Regulatory Compliance and Security
- Experience with regulatory compliance issues and knowledge of best practices in application and network security
Technology Knowledge
- Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft stacks
- Exposure to ITIL concepts and adoption
- Experience with Cloud Financial Management, including FinOps practices
- Experience with Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS)
