Hastings Deering is looking for a experience Leading Hand to join the Rockhampton branch.
This position is best suited to new leaders or experienced tradespeople who wish to take that next step in their career. Safety and a 'no harm' culture is key critical and central to our being. Stability and worklife balance is also on offer working a 4 on 3 off alternating day afternoon shift roster.
As a Leading hand you will:
- Provide active leadership to employees to improve safety, performance and deliver on customer expectations.
- Ensure all team members are working towards No Harm, through Safety interactions and proactive hazard reporting.
- Lead a team in execution of planned work as per work schedule.
- Provide guidance and expertise when required.
- Report defects and unsatisfactory practices to help promote continuous improvement.
- Ensure adverse environment impacts are identified and sustainability measures implemented as per Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure apprentices obtain every opportunity to achieve competencies in an acceptable timeframe via on-the-job training.

- Trade Qualification
- Demonstrate competence to show supportive and structured leadership in the workplace.
- Skills to provide high level technical advice and guidance to your team.
- Skills to provide a very high level of customer service, whilst ensuring customer needs are addressed.
- Competent to promote team effectiveness, communicate to stakeholders at all levels and inspect others work to ensure high level quality assurance.
- Maintain the highest level of workplace health and safety.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
