Leading Hand Carpenter (Residential)

Oskus Construction is a family-run building company based in Sydney's Inner West. We pride ourselves on our quality craftmanship, close-knit team culture and professionalism. We work on a range of mid to large residential renovations and restorations, including many period homes and architecturally designed additions. Our director, Jamie, a Carpenter by trade, has a passion for imparting a broad range of skills to give his team the tools for success.

This position is ideal for a competent Carpenter looking to gain new skills or an existing Leading Hand Carpenter looking to work on custom quality focused projects, who may also have a goal to become a Foreman or Builder:

• Work on custom projects in period properties, mostly in Sydney's Inner West, which offer interesting and diverse opportunities
• Work to a high level of quality and craftsmanship
• Work on everything from groundworks to fix-out and work with skilled specialty trades
• Look after the day to day management of the team on site - (2-3) carpenters/apprentices, whist also working on the tools
• Liase with trades and suppliers to gain skills in Site Management
• Report to the Director, who is the Project Manager, and work collaboratively on the project to gain Project Management skills

• Work in the Inner West and occasionally other nearby suburbs, so your commute is consistent

• Carpentry trade qualification
• At least 4 years experience in residential building, preferably renovations and extensions
• Must have a broad range of power and hand tools 
• Drivers licence and vehicle essential
• Demonstrate experience as an all-round residential carpenter with a wide range of skills from foundations to finishes
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a desire to lead a team
