About your new branch
The Infrastructure Delivery Branch is responsible for the project management and construction of capital works for all customer and community facing infrastructure classes.
Responsible for the management and coordination of fleet operations.
In this position you will:
- Oversee and lead work teams in the safe and efficient construction of:
- Stormwater drainage pipelines, manholes, gully pits, outlet structures
- Roadworks including granular pavement construction, kerb and asphalt placement
- Concreting works including form, reinforce and pour of footpaths, driveways (including exposed aggregate) bikeways, bus stops and structural concrete elements
- Earthworks including cut / fill, compaction, plant management
- Promote strong safety culture within the organisation
- Implement and monitor safety procedures for projects including daily pre-starts, site inductions, development of risk assessments, City Safe Operating Procedures and contractor Safe Work Method Statements.
- Plan and control daily works activities on construction sites to ensure safety, quality, cost and time objectives are achieved
- Manage and monitor costs associated with projects including tracking project costs and forecasting costs at project completion and provide relevant information/updates to the Construction Supervisor/Construction Coordinator.
- Set out various works projects, interpret plans and calculate quantities of materials required.
- Develop and coordinate work schedules and time frames in conjunction with the Construction Supervisor and implement works to agreed timeframes.
- Manage subcontractor work activities in line with contractual obligations
Requirements for the role:
- Certificate IV in Construction (Civil) and/or demonstrated Civil experience relevant to the role outlined above.
- Current Class C or MR Drivers Licence.
- WHS Licence General Construction (White Card)
- Demonstrated commitment to safety from both a leadership and personal perspective.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Natural leader who champions change and develops people to achieve their personal and organisational goals.
- Manage, motivate and assess the performance of site activities to ensure safe, effective and efficient delivery of works.
