About Our Client
Join forces with a distinguished Production business that specializes in manufacturing and producing coloured render, textures, paint and natural material coatings for residential and commercial buildings. With continuous growth in the business, they are seeking a full time Dry Production Leading Hand to join the team.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Leading Hand you will be working at the cement-based render manufacturing plant, located in Yandina. You will primarily responsible for leading the night shift production team to ensure the safe, high quality and timely manufacture of our dry plant production products.
Night Shift: You will be required to work 9:00pm to 7:00am Monday to Thursday.
Rotating Roster: You will be required to work 5am-3pm Monday to Thursday and 1pm-11pm Monday to Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Train, develop and motivate staff to fully understand all processes and procedures in the dry production plant.
- Lead by example in setting up and operating equipment in compliance with Workplace Health and Safety standards and Safe Operating Procedures.
- Be a champion of ‘5s’, workplace health and safety, quality and improving production efficiency.
- Develop a positive and productive team environment, including identifying skill gaps and working on continuous improvement of the team.
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles for achieving the production schedule assigned to your shift.
- Liaise and work in collaboration with other departments to ensure timely production, stock availability and quality products are met.
- Communicate regularly with the maintenance team to ensure preventative and proactive maintenance in the plant.
- Collaborate with the Senior Lead Hand to maximise production time and minimise change over times, for improving output.
- Ensure quality testing is performed following QC testing work instructions, with accurate record keeping.
Requirements
- Proven supervision and leadership experience.
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Experience with troubleshooting, mechanical and pneumatic processes.
- Lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement process experience.
- Experience creating and reviewing Safe Operating Procedures.
- Forklift and Loader licences are highly desirable.
- Certificate III in a relevant field.
- Excellent time management and resource planning.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills, including numerical and basic computer knowledge.
- Safety focused and comfortable wearing a respirator.
- Physically fit & strong with the ability to lift up to 25kg.
