Northwest Mining Company are currently looking for aLeading Hand Mechanic to join our growing team. Based in Muswellbrook, Northwest Mining specialise in mine support including vehicle servicing, labour and equipment hire. We currently have 50 technically skilled employees.
About the role
Based in our Muswellbrook workshop, you will become a key component helping to provide quality and professional servicing, repairs and maintenance to our clients and customers. Supervising our Monday-Friday crew, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the workshop and provide the workshop supervisor with regular updates. Your duties will include but not be limited to;
- Liaising with the Automotive Manager with the day-to-day running of the workshop and be the first point of contact for other tradesmen
- Liaise with customers and clients regarding vehicles
- Overseeing routine servicing on all of our customers vehicles as well as our own vehicles and equipment
- Providing the service advisor records of repairs, servicing and defects in a timely manner
- Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to work health and safety standards.
- Quoting larger jobs and sending to clients for approval
- Checking job cards and carrying out final checks on vehicles before returning to customers and clients.
This role is on a 2 week rotating roster of morning (6am-3:30pm) and afternoon (11:30am – 9pm) shift with the other Leading Hand.
About you
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer focus combined with leadership and organisational skills.
To be considered for this you must have the following skills and experiences;
- Light vehicle mechanical trade (or similar).
- Current C Class Licence
- 5+ years experience in mechanical diagnosis
- Proven leadership skills
- The ability to work unsupervised and independently, as well as in a team.
- Strong communication skills; both verbal and written
- The ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills
- A professional approach to their work
- Proficient computer literacy
