AddressMackay Regional Council are seeking a Leading Hand Natural Area to join the Parks and Environment team on a permanent full-time basis.
About this opportunity:
Join our team as the Leading Hand Natural Areas, where you'll play a pivotal role in ecological restoration, weed control, and revegetation projects. Under regular guidance, you'll ensure the delivery of top-quality Natural Area management services, meeting our established service standards.
In this role, you'll supervise a dedicated team, providing expert advice on Natural Area management. You'll oversee team operations, refine processes, and guarantee tasks are completed on schedule in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Your responsibilities will also include fostering a safe and healthy work environment, prioritising workplace health, industrial hygiene, and psychological wellbeing. Additionally, you'll plan, schedule, and manage minor projects, along with performing other duties as directed by your supervisor.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Qualification in Bush Regeneration, Natural Resource Management or related field.
- Diploma (preferred); OR
- Less formal qualifications.
- QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
- General Construction Induction Training.
- Chainsaw Level 1 Licence.
- ACDC Weed Spraying Licence.
- Experience in the planning, scheduling and delivery of tasks and projects.
- Experience communicating work instructions to a team.

Salary & Employee Benefits:
- Base annual salary from $59,319.99 plus a weekly Leading Hand allowance and other allowance as applicable
- Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply)
