The Toowoomba Turf Club Inc. owns and operates Clifford Park Racecourse on Hursley Road in Toowoomba. Clifford Park Racecourse is the largest racing centre on the Darling Downs conducting near weekly race meetings more than 45 race meetings per annum. The TTC operates this renowned horse racing facility in addition to one of Queensland’s largest provincial training centres (the Clifford Park Training Centre) on-site. Clifford Park Racecourse has developed and maintains a reputation as the premier destination for functions and events in the region.
The role
Supporting the Racecourse Manager, you will be across the development and implementation of racecourse management and maintenance plans to ensure successful and smooth running of our racing and training operations.
In this hands-on role, you can expect to…
- Implement and supervise pre and post-race course management to ensure the smooth operation of the Clifford Park course including inner grass, sand, synthetic and other training surfaces and facilities to meet the training and racing requirements.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of lighting and irrigation infrastructure, as well as machinery and maintenance assets.
- Supervise, co-ordinate and motivate track team members including monitoring and managing safety requirements and set tasks.
- Oversee pest and disease management tasks.
About you

- Experience in operating and maintaining broad acreage machinery and turf equipment.
- Chemical qualification (desirable) and spraying experience.
- A desire to be responsible for outstanding track presentation with exceptional attention to detail.
