About the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JASANZ)Established under a treaty between Australia and New Zealand in 1991, JASANZ provides internationally recognised accreditation services that give confidence to markets domestically and internationally that goods and services certified by accredited bodies meet established standards.
Internationally recognised JASANZ accredits certification, inspection and verification and validation bodies against a range of standards to assess their competence to ensure that confidence can be had in the products, services and systems audited, inspected, verified or certified.
The system of accreditation provides for a consistent, robust, and reliable use of conformity assessment to international standards and norms. Using internationally recognised frameworks reduces regulatory costs, increases consistency and quality, and facilitates international trade.
The OpportunityThis is a unique opportunity for a Learning and Development (L&D) professional to blend their specialist skills with the chance to build and manage a strong training business.
Reporting to the General Manager Operations, you will lead a team of four staff that manage the training services provided by JASANZ to the industry globally.
Key responsibilities include business development, leadership and management of L&D initiatives, global delivery of training services, and overseeing industry and internal L&D initiatives.
This role offers the chance to lead an innovative L&D function, develop strategic, operational, and project-level initiatives, and expand the JASANZ Academy to deliver training services worldwide. Additionally, the L&D Manager will lead the successful JASANZ Futures Program for the industry.
This is a permanent role located in either Canberra (AUS) or Wellington (NZ).
The RoleThe Learning and Development Manager oversees three separate training functions including JASANZ’s internal training program, the JASANZ Academy and the JASANZ Futures Program for industry.
One of your key focuses will be building and expanding the JASANZ Academy, which delivers training services globally to customers and other key industry organisations. You’ll take the lead on developing business in this revenue stream, which has huge potential.
Additionally, the L&D Manager will oversee the design and delivery of comprehensive L&D frameworks and programs, manage major projects including project and finance management, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
You’ll be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous professional and leadership development at JASANZ. This includes designing, implementing, and evaluating learning strategies and programs, developing leadership skills, enhancing digital learning solutions, and improving training methodologies.
The Ideal PersonThe ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in establishing and expanding a training business
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse teams, fostering an innovative environment
- Proficiency with digital learning platforms and educational technologies
- Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels
- At least 5 years of professional experience in L&D, encompassing the design and implementation of L&D frameworks, programs, instructional design, and learning program evaluation
Whilst not essential, it’s highly desirable to have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Adult Learning or a related field
- TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent, with RTO experience
- $140,000 to $155,000 plus super
