Calytrix Technologies is an Australian company specialising in Training Systems Integration for the Australian and international defence community. As a dedicated Australian Defence training and simulation company, Calytrix maintains offices in Perth, Canberra, the UK and USA. We focus on enhancing joint and collective training through the integration of innovative exercise planning and simulation systems. Our simulation services include the integration of tactical 3D environments, constructive simulations, Virtual Reality simulations, simulators and the development of simulation frameworks and military training support.
Calytrix is seeking a Learning and Development Manager (L&DM) who will be responsible for managing and developing the training strategy and packages to a major Defence customer.
Working as part of a blended (Prime, Calytrix and Defence) Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) team, the position will work collaboratively with the OEM to design and develop comprehensive training strategies and packages to facilitate the introduction into service and continuation training for a new and major Defence maritime capability.
The L&DM will work with team members, facilitators and management to deliver the training outcomes required of the project. This includes assisting and supporting all work relating to the training analysis, design, development, evaluation and implementation processes. The L&DM, supported by the OEM and military SMEs, will work within a Defence Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL).
Responsibilities
Based in Perth, WA the Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for:
- Working to the Calytrix Training Support Lead, develop and contribute to training related documents within a SADL framework.
- Development of the training and education system, using the SADL approach throughout the Analyse, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate phases.
- Development of the learning materials and equipment requirements including key interfaces to manage the development of the required training materials (systems, software, hardware, and classroom materials).
- Liaison and management of selected OEM simulation and CBT providers.
Requirements
The TDM will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience with the SADL (ADDIE model) systems approach, or equivalent AQTF methodology.
- Experience with online learning management systems and common CBT tools.
- Proven experience as a Learning and Development Manager, with a portfolio demonstrating your expertise in designing and delivering effective learning solutions.
- Exceptional instructional design and content development skills.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Learning Design and Facilitation or tertiary qualifications in Education and/or Instructional Design.
- Experience in the maritime and/or defence industry.
- Experience as a training coordinator or training analyst.
- Knowledge of Defence project management and understanding of ASDEFCON ILS related documentation.
- Hold an Australian Defence clearance or has the ability to gain a clearance, which includes the requirement to hold Australian citizenship.
This position is offered as a full time role with an initial engagement anticipated at three years. The program represents the first phase of a longer term series of Defence procurements for the OEM with the potential for a much longer term engagement.
The position is based in the Perth CBD with routine travel to the Henderson Precinct. Some inter-state travel is anticipated. Calytrix offers generous employment conditions including competitive salary and packaging.
