About the Role
The University of Melbourne is uniting its museums and collections under the Cultural Commons initiative to elevate both scholarly and public value and bolster its global cultural reputation. The Museums and Collections Department oversees Buxton Contemporary, Science Gallery Melbourne, The Ian Potter Museum of Art, Old Quad Treasury, MPavilion Parkville, and the Grainger Museum, ensuring alignment with university goals. This collaborative network enriches the knowledge and understanding of students, staff, and communities worldwide, spanning contemporary and traditional cultures, scientific discovery, and creative practice.

As the Learning Delivery Manager, you'll play a crucial role in planning and delivering STEAM learning programs across our venues, leading a team to ensure successful collaboration with partner and non-partner schools. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the operational delivery of all STEAM learning programs on-site at the STEM Centre of Excellence, Science Gallery, University of Melbourne’s Museums & Collections, and off-site at partner schools and industry locations.
  • Managing school bookings, venue timetabling, staff scheduling, and liaising with teachers to meet content needs.
  • Leading a team of STEAM Communicators and supervisinf Learning Experience Facilitators, including teaching when necessary.

Who we are looking for
We're looking for a dynamic Learning Delivery Manager to lead the charge in planning and scheduling cutting-edge STEAM programs. If you have a talent for designing engaging programs and crafting curriculum materials for both school and informal learning environments, we want to hear from you. Your expertise in utilising advanced digital design and production technologies—like VR, AR, gaming, film and video, advanced manufacturing, coding, and app design—will be highly valued. Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills are essential, along with high-quality organisational and problem-solving abilities to juggle multiple projects effectively. You will also have:

  • Current VIT Teacher registration.
  • Vocational, Graduate, or Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, Arts, or Technology.
  • Proven experience in delivering STEAM programs that integrate arts, science, and digital technologies to showcase career pathways and future skills.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
