Learning & Development Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic Learning & Development Manager based at our Collins Street office in Hobart.

The Learning & Development Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive learning and development programs tailored to our diverse workforce located across Tasmania, major Australian cities, and overseas.

This is a full-time opportunity and requires some intrastate travel to our various locations to meet with and provide development for our incredible team as well as periodic interstate travel in conjunction with JBS team initiatives.

A day in the life as Huon’s L&D Manager

Leading learning and organisational development initiatives, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our business through growth and performance across culture, capability, and leadership.

Your range of responsibilities will span the design and/or delivery of learning solutions, capability frameworks, initiatives, and projects to support our diverse workforce across our sites to grow and develop.

Reporting into our General Manager People & Culture, you’ll be empowered to lead and own all things learning and development from consultation with our leaders, to creating learning and development initiatives from thought bubble to implementation, leveraging the support and content from our JBS corporate team, you will partner with the People & Culture team to support ongoing delivery including:

• Lead and develop a small team of hard-working Learning and Development professionals. 
• Design and/or deliver learning programs using a range of methods, including face-to-face, digital, and blended learning, ensuring the content is accessible, relevant, and engaging.
• Ensure appropriate mandatory training courses are in place, and track compliance.
• Partner with our parent company, JBS, to bring to life frameworks and initiatives, and contribute to the JBS Organisational and Learning & Development team.
• Use data to identify and advise on trends, patterns, challenges, and opportunities that impact capability, performance, and culture to inform future activities. 
• Maintain accurate records of development spend and committed spend in maintaining the Learning budget and provide accurate forecasts.

What we’re looking for

Experience and enthusiasm for leading high performing teams with a proven delivery track record of delivering timely and high-quality outcomes.

• Passion for learning and development, with demonstrated experience creating and/or implementing impactful Learning & Development programs and initiatives.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, and strong capability to deliver compelling learning experiences, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience leading the design of content for blended learning programs e-learning, videos, instructor led, mentoring, etc.
• Experience using SAP SuccessFactors is highly desirable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing team environment and thrive.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to build data sets and reports to support data-driven decisions.
