We are currently seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position at our Simberi Operation. Working a 21/14 FIFO Roster from any Australian capital city.
Reporting to the Manager Human Resources, you will lead and manage Simberi’s leadership development programs to ensure the company to ensure the company has the talent to deliver the company’s strategic objectives. You will also manage the company’s talent management framework including key human resources systems.
The opportunity
- Assisting the Manager Human Resources with the planning, reviewing and implementation of the company’s Talent Management Framework.
- Coordinating the annual succession planning and managing the effective succession management system as part of the company’s Talent Management Framework.
- Managing the company’s leadership development programs including program design, development, delivery, evaluation and reporting.
- Providing sound advice and information on training capability development to leaders
- Conduction regular audits on the company’s Talent Management Framework and providing audit reports including scope, finding and recommendations.
- Identifying improvement opportunities in relation to talent capability & optimisation, organisational alignment, role clarity, effective communication and frontline engagement.
- Assisting supervisors by creating development plans for leaders based on their needs and goals.
- Ensuring the company’s Career Development System is fit for purpose and fully implemented across the group.
- Providing ongoing feedback to employees on their leadership skills.
- Ensuring and monitoring safety in the workplace by identifying and addressing hazards, participate in improving safety and ensuring all reporting requirements are completed.

We would love to hear from you if you have:
- A post graduate degree or qualification in a human resource related discipline
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Previous experience in a Senior Talent Management role
- Knowledge, understanding and experience in vocational education and training
- Capability in design, development and delivery of training and development materials including guides, session outlines and assessments
- Experience in system design and development
- The ability to deliver high quality training and proven ability to facilitate engaging, challenging and thought provoking discussions across a diverse workforce
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures
- Experience in a similar role in the mining/resources industry would be desirable
