Our client is a large, profitable, and rapidly growing national operator in the multi-site retail sector.
About the role:
The Leasing Executive will work directly with the leasing team, assisting with all aspects of the leasing process across the group’s national portfolio (fuel and convenience and mixed retail & commercial assets).
This role will be across all the required documentation to reduce risk and to ensure the end to end leasing process is completed within business requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Able to summarise leasing offers and instruct nominated legal teams effectively
- Maintain an up-to-date leasing schedules across the portfolio using the company’s lease management software
- Assist lease administrators with lease summaries and ensure all rental charges and expense recoveries are accurately recorded
- Interpretation and understanding the Retail Leases Act as it applies to each state
- Assist with lease renewals, expiries and vacant tenancies in accordance with relevant acts across all states.
- Understand the agency agreements, calculation of fee structure and processing of leasing fees & marketing as approved for each site
- Assist with getting repairs and maintenance, as needed, to better present vacant properties
- Assist in the review of proposals for lease assignments and subleases
- Manage leasing documentation, including for renewals, variations and the registration of the leases, where applicable.
- Assist with any necessary Ad hoc requests and tasks
About you:
- Leasing management or executive experience
- Ability to read and understand the structure and provisions of a commercial lease
- Able to establish effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Strong communication and ‘can do’ attitude
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills
- Thorough approach with strong attention to detail
- Enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Highly self-motivated, but also able to work collaboratively as part of a team
