The Opportunity

As a Leasing Specialist of Store Development Department, you will be a key contributor in driving our strategic goals, including expanding our store network, optimising rent costs, and supporting our existing stores. Your expertise in commercial leasing and advanced leasing/development technologies will play a vital role in enhancing our property management processes and supporting our mission towards sustainable growth and operational excellence.

At UNIQLO, days are rarely linear so the need to be adaptable to shifting circumstances is important. Strong communication skills are also vital in successfully collaborating with multiple project stakeholders both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilise GIS tools to analyse market trends, identify potential store locations, and support network expansion strategies.
  • Prepare Business case and redevelopment supporting documentation
  • Day to day lease administration and landlord coordination / management
  • Engage in property leasing activities, utilising cutting-edge technology for lease administration, negotiation, and management.
  • Collaborate on cost reduction initiatives, particularly in rent negotiations
  • Assist with financial management tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, with a focus on leveraging technology to streamline processes.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for stores and the support office teams, ensuring high levels of satisfaction through timely resolution of issues and effective communication.
  • Support the management team in deploying the detailed and sustainable property plans
  • Foster teamwork across departments, ensuring property management goals align with broader business objectives
  • Demonstrate a truly cross functional and business problem solving attitude and take on all challenges

Key skills, qualification and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Property Management, Real Estate, Property Development or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial / retail real estate, with a strong emphasis on leasing/development technologies.
  • Shopping Centre Leasing or Retail in house property team
  • Working knowledge of Retail Leases Act
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work proactively as part of a committed team
  • Exceptional Knowledge of Retail trends, and commercial shopping centres across Australia.
  • Proficient in the use of GIS software and tools for spatial analysis and decision-making.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles related to property management, including budgeting and lease analysis.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with tenants, vendors, and internal teams.
  • “Can do” attitude including positive and resilient mindset, and ability to adapt to shift changing circumstances and ambiguity
