The Opportunity
Monash's Psychology department boasts an internationally acclaimed reputation for educational excellence, consistently attracting top educators and researchers globally. Within the prestigious Teaching and Research category of employment, education-focused staff at Monash are considered elite, playing a pivotal role in innovating education and shaping its delivery at the University.
The Graduate Diploma of Psychology Advanced (GDPA) is a distinguished fully online APAC accredited Psychology fourth-year course, encompassing both coursework and a research project component. In this role, collaboration with Deputy Course Convenors is paramount to coordinating units within the GDPA effectively.
As a Lecturer (Education focused), you will be instrumental in enhancing the teaching efforts within your respective department, school, or faculty. Your trajectory is geared towards leadership in educational design and delivery, incorporating evidence-informed approaches to practice.
The Lecturer (Education Focused) will serve as Unit Coordinator for PSY4401 - Psychology research project: Statistics and research design for professional psychology. They will be responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating high quality teaching activities that actively engage students and successfully achieve learning outcomes. Consultation with students with a student-centered orientation, fostering flexible, inclusive and student-centric learning environments, and utilizing a mix of teaching and learning technologies to innovate teaching practices are crucial aspects of this position.
We are seeking someone who holds an honours degree or higher qualifications in the relevant discipline, with progress towards a doctorate, or possess a doctorate in the relevant or closely related field. Essential qualifications include a demonstrated track record in teaching at the tertiary level, expertise in crafting teaching materials and a clear commitment to scholarly research activities. The successful candidate must exhibit a passion for delivering high-quality online education and driving innovation in the educational landscape, as these are also critical attributes for success in this role.
