As a Lecturer, you will focus your efforts on growing your profile in teaching, research, and service and engagement in Nutrition and Dietetics. You will work collaboratively within the team of dietitians and nutritionists to conduct high quality research, deliver quality teaching, and provide service to the Nutrition and Dietetics profession and the broader community. At this level, you may coordinate or lead the activities of other staff and will usually contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):Teaching across different settings and actively contributing towards educational practice and innovative curriculum designMaintaining an active and effective record of publishing in high quality research journalsContributing to recruitment, selection, and onboarding of appropriately qualified employeesActively developing partnerships by fostering relationships with colleagues, industry, government departments, professional bodies, and the wider communityThis is a teaching & research position. At Academic level B, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,201 - $128,201, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $126,595 - $149,996 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.The greater of joining the UQ community are broad: from being part of a university, to recognition of prior service with other Australian universities, up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, flexible working arrangements including hybrid on site/WFH options and flexible start/finish times, and genuine career progression opportunities via the academic promotions process.About YouYou will be able to demonstrate the following:Completion of a PhD in Nutrition and/or Dietetics.A growing profile in teaching and research and/or scholarship of teaching in the discipline area such as nutrition science, population nutrition, diet in health and disease.A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and conference presentations in Nutrition and Dietetics.Evidence of seeking and/or obtaining and managing external funding for research projects.Evidence of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours, and/or postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.Experience in course coordination and/or contribution to the development and continuous innovation of programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.A growing record of supervision of Honours and/or Higher Degree by Research students.Experience in meaningful academic service roles and active contributions to external engagement activities and with relevant professional associations.Eligible for membership of the Nutrition Society of Australia and status as a Registered Nutritionist and/or membership with Dietitians Australia and as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
