UQ has made a to making education opportunities available for all Queenslanders, regardless of personal, financial, or geographical barriers.As part of our commitment to excellence in research and professional practice in academic contexts, we are proud to provide our staff with access to world-class facilities and equipment, grant writing support, greater research funding opportunities, and other forms of staff support and development.About This OpportunityThe Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Clinical Education will take a leadership role in the facilitation of clinical and procedural learning activities and teaching for Year 2 (& Year 1 from 2025) medical students at the Bundaberg Regional Clinical Unit (BRCU) in a manner that promotes inclusivity and a sense of belonging for students with the primary focus on providing a mutually supportive environment to allow medical students to flourish.Key responsibilities will include:Teaching: Facilitate and organise high quality clinical learning experiences for Year 1 and 2 UQ medical students at the BRCU, primarily in the simulated learning environment.Ensure the Clinical Skills learning activities are aligned with the learning outcomes for the MD Program and preparing students for their clinical learning during their Year 3 and 4 clinical placements in the rural and regional context.Contribute to face-to-face clinical teaching to support the development of professional identity, as well as clinical knowledge, clinical and procedural skills, relevant to clinical expertise.Research: Contribute to building the BRCU and the UQ Rural Clinical School’s (RCS) research capacity by encouraging students and clinical staff to undertake research and scholarship of teaching and learning.Supervision and Researcher Development: Provide supervision of employees by providing effective feedback, coaching, and professional development.Provide supervision or support to relevant staff, by providing feedback and coaching where appropriate.Citizenship and Service: Contribute to a respectful, inclusive and culturally safe workplace and learning environment.This is a clinical academic position. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,201- $128,201, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $126,595 - $149,996 annually.At Academic level C. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $132,201 - $152,202, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $154,676- $178,076 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.The greater of joining the UQ community are broad: from being part of a university, to recognition of prior service with other Australian universities, up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, flexible working arrangements including hybrid on site/WFH options and flexible start/finish times, and genuine career progression opportunities via the academic promotions process.About YouFor Level B – Currently working clinically and part of a Vocational Specialist Training Program and registered with AHPRA.For Level C - Medical qualification and eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia​Requirements for Level BPhD or equivalent in the disciplinary area, or an appropriate combination of professional and academic service relevant to the field.An established profile in Clinical teaching, including in the area of clinical skills and simulation.A record of contribution to the supervision of medical studentsExperience in undertaking or facilitating research or scholarship of teaching and learning.Ability to establish effective relationships and to represent and promote the UQ Rural Clinical Schools within hospitals and health care facilities at a university level and in the wider community including professional bodies.High level communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, colleagues and the wider community.Highly developed organisational skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex working environment.A commitment to and an understanding of the issues surrounding, living, and working in a rural and/or regional area.Additional requirements for Level CDemonstrated experience and capacity in the development and delivery of medical education materials relevant to small and/or large group settings.Demonstrated academic leadership skills, including capacity for high-level interpersonal communication, collaboration, and the building of effective teams.Evidence of a program of scholarly work in medical education.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
