Job description

Our client, a successful legal firm located in the CBD, pride themselves on providing a client-focused service in a range of legal areas. 

Are you a personal assistant with experience working in the legal arena? Are you looking for the next step in your career where you will be working with a dynamic team? If so, then our client team would be delighted to welcome you into our growing and busy practice.

If successful you would join their small, close-knit team on a Permanent full-time or Part Time basis.   The role would ideally suit someone with a background in the legal or professional services industry and/or someone currently studying law on a part time or external basis.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the legal team with day-to-day operations of files/client management;
  • Record keeping for client matters including file opening, custody and archiving;
  • Providing a first point of contact for clients & answering client enquiries;
  • Client liaison including arranging appointments and meetings;
  • Preparing matters for conferences and hearings;
  • Drafting briefs, letters and other documents;
  • Legal research, fact gathering and information retrieval;
  • Applications and uploading/filing documents on court portal;
  • Word processing and dicta typing
  • Handling correspondence
  • Diary management
  • Client liaison
  • General file management
  • General office administration

The role is primarily based in the office however we appreciate that there will be times you will need to work from home, and we have flexible work arrangements available.

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a personal assistance/legal/professional service environment;
  • Professional phone manner;
  • High level computer skills (MS Office suite);
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
  • High level customer service skills;
  • Strong work ethic and shows initiative;
  • Excellent time management and organization skills;
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously.
  • Strong work ethic 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exemplary typing and computer skills
  • Experience with MS Office
