About the role
The primary focus of this role is to provide administrative support to four lawyers and cover reception duties. Candidates who enjoy a varied role and wish to develop their skills and legal support capabilities within a collaborative environment will suit this opportunity.
We will provide on-the-job training and ongoing training and development. Key to this position is a strong work ethic and a desire to work in a team and provide professional administrative service to lawyers.
You will be involved in interesting legal matters, and on a day-to-day basis you can expect the role to include:
- Incoming call management
- Meeting and greeting clients and stakeholders
- File maintenance - electronic (Actionstep) and paper
- Preparation of correspondence
- Diary management
- Editing documents
- Opening and closing files
- Scanning and copying
- Archiving
- Attending to email management for the team
About you
The successful candidate will have prior experience in administration, reception or office support within the APS or a legal practice/professional services environment. You will be a team player with a can-do attitude committed to achieving client/firm outcomes.
You will also possess the following attributes/skills:
- good attention to detail and a professional approach
- a genuine commitment and ability to deliver high-quality client service
- good written and verbal communication skills and judgement
- good knowledge of common software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office programs, Adobe etc) with a high level of accuracy
- good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
- good judgement and the ability and willingness to take on a variety of tasks
- an interest in undertaking training and development to learn new skills
- the ability to foster positive working relationships
- active team member, completing tasks and assisting others to complete tasks
- possess a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for desired outcomes
- use discretion and deal with sensitive information appropriately
- ability to work autonomously, exercise initiative and judgement
- effective planning, organisation, and time management skills
- the ability to quickly become proficient in systems and processes
- a flexible approach to working with different stakeholders and their unique styles
