Brooks Lawyers is a boutique legal practice with offices located in Yarrawonga and Rutherglen.
Our legal practice offers a full suite of legal services including wills, family law, deceased estates, personal injury, workers compensation, employment law, court matters and conveyancing.
The firm comprises two Directors and support staff. We are a busy, fast growing practice.
Legal Assistant/ Law Clerk
Our candidate will have had legal experience but experience in a similar professional environment will be viewed favourably.
The position is based in our Yarrawonga office.
The Ideal Candidate will
- Be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to interact with people from diverse communities and backgrounds.
- Possess great attention to detail, demonstrate initiative, and be well organised.
- Be proficient with computers/technology.
- Can work autonomously.
- Be willing to complete further and on-going training or professional development as required.
Your responsibilities will include
- Answering phone calls, emails and directing enquiries
- Manage appointments / calendars for Directors
- Mail management / Banking
- Photocopying, scanning, preparing legal briefs, file archiving
- Professional client communication - Liaising with and assisting clients
- Assist and take instructions from the Directors.
- Assist with other general office duties including legal work as required.
The Role
The position is permanent / full-time role - but we would consider part time.
Salary is in accordance with the Legal Services Award.
Salary can be negotiated based on your experience and qualifications.
