Job description

About us

Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer of Australians?

Approximately 50 Australians die every day from heart disease, and as Australia's leading heart health charity, we are committed to changing this!

We do this through:

  • Funding high-impact research, supporting emerging and leading heart health researchers
  • Working to improve heart disease prevention, detection, care and support for all Australians
  • Advocating to governments and industry for increased funding and resources for heart health
  • Building community awareness about living a heart-healthy lifestyle through public health awareness campaigns, accessible information and resources
  • Supporting health professionals in their work to prevent, diagnose, treat and manage heart disease.

How can you make a difference?

The Legal Counsel role is at the heart of the Legal, Risk and Governance Team, helping to keep the whole organisation beating!

As our Legal Counsel, you will liaise with internal stakeholders to understand their goals and objectives, and more specifically their legal, compliance and risk needs and obligations in achieving these outcomes. Working in close collaboration with experienced in-house lawyers, you will provide accurate presentation of legal issues, together with analysis opinions and recommendations.

From working with teams on complex projects, to contributing to internal polices to better the lives and work of our staff, you'll find great satisfaction in putting your legal expertise to work, while developing customer-focused outcomes and maintaining strong working relationships.

If this sounds like the perfect way to use your law degree to better the lives of people in Australia, we want to hear from you!
