Your new company

We are recruiting a temp Legal Administrator, suitable for a corporate client in need of a candidate with a proactive mindset that has experience with legal procedures and can juggle various administrative tasks in a timely manner.
Ultimately, you should be able to support the legal department and team.

Your new role

Legal administrative duties will include, but will not be limited to:
Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day administrative operations: ensuring that all legal work is completed efficiently, and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Document analysis: transcribing and proofreading legal documents.
  • Scheduling and revising, arranging court depositions, hearings and client meetings.
  • Supervising invoices, budgets, and resources: managing the financial resources of the legal department, including creating and monitoring budgets, processing invoices, forecasting expenses, and identifying cost-saving measures.
  • Document submission: filing documents with the court ahead of deadlines.
  • General administration: filing, organising, scanning, copying and faxing legal reports and documentation.
  • Staff Collaboration.
  • Client and team relations: coordinating with clients and lawyers to ensure that legal services are delivered effectively.

Requirements and Skills
  • Experience as a Legal Administrator, Legal Assistant, or relevant role.
  • Experience with or ability to use legal software.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular).
  • Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise important projects.
  • Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills.

As a bonus, you should have the ability to encourage a positive team culture and provide excellent customer support.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will require experience as a general administrator and experience as a Legal Administrator. You will require adaptability and flexibility to manage situations as they come up and be able to multitask at a fast pace.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal, numerical and abstract cognitive skills.
  • Being highly organised and efficient.
  • The ability to be professional and courteous.
  • The ability to work in a team.
  • Strong sense of discretion.
  • Ability to prioritise.
  • Qualification in Law would be desired.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Experience with Filepro or Leap is desired.

A confidential and effective work ethic is a must with attention to detail to all tasks.
